SHELL GROTTO & FOLLY TOWER WALK

SUNDAY 3rd NOVEMBER at PONTYPOOL PARK

This is a walk of just 4 miles but a very long history!

Pontypool Park covers 150 acres of mature woodland, well-tended parkland, natural open meadows and many interesting features. Some of these include a Roman road, an ice house, Italian gardens, millponds surrounded by 400 year old trees and Gorsedd Stones from 1924's National Eisteddfod.

*Highlights: the notable Grade 2 listed Shell Grotto, originally a private hunting lodge, and 18th century local landmark of Folly Tower providing stunning views across open countryside and the Severn Estuary.

*The Shell Grotto and Folly Tower are seldom open to the public so we're extremely thankful to Pontypool Park Friends who have so kindly granted Welsh Women Walking access to both on this occasion. A rare opportunity not to be missed!
