Description: an easy, mostly flat walk to start the year off gently! Lovely lakeside views with a variety of habitats and range of wildlife. Also the opportunity to visit a reconstructed 14th century medieval village situated in the park (entry free).
Terrain: Boardwalks, gravel paths, meadows, woodland
Difficulty: Easy
Start time: 10.am (please aim to arrive 15 mins earlier)
Meeting point: Cosmeston Lake car park in front of the Visitor Centre (free parking)
Duration: 4.5 miles /  2 hours (approx)

Cosmeston Lakes are situated about five miles west of Cardiff. The main entrance is 1.5 miles south of Penarth town centre on the B4267 Lavernock Road to Sully. For those without Sat Nav: AA Route Planner http://www.theaa.com/route-planner will give detailed directions from your start point.
